Alex Lidagovsky is an acclaimed abstract and figurative sculptor whose innovative public space works are well known in his native country Ukraine.
After having had his studio in Kyiv destroyed in the early hours of the Russian invasion, we are fortunate that Alex has chosen the UK to continue his work.
His 'Iron Horse' piece evokes the freedom of the Ukraine people, and also the burnt-out rusted vehicle carnage that Alex witnessed on his journey out of Kyiv with his family.
Many of Alex's works remain in Kyiv and Ukraine, but some of those that he managed to bring out, along with recent works produced here, are on display at The Beach. Including his life size 'Lady Godiva', which adornes the front of the building, and is becoming a much admired local landmark.
